Hey all beautiful souls:)
Just registered, and the first day is over (ok it was let say 50 mins with tons of clicks). Achievements so far:
I spent ~20USD for Q1 pistols. I didn't really experienced anything, this might had been a bad call as first investment for a beginner. After hitting in some battle I discovered there are military units, so I joined one where I suspect some activity:) This was leading to the party selection, I went for the independents - at least for the time being:)
Well I also realized - or I did something wrong - there were no new news at all. So I spent my first 2golds on a newspaper:)
It was also a surprise that I had a grain farm and a food factory, I should pay a bit more attention on the tutorial, but at least I don't die starving. This is cool, I like it:)
I also applied for permission on the forum, but not sure if there is any activity, will see. ^^)
I checked the map, saved some links from the greeting message for later reading. I also took a look on the international news and some random picked countries, well I don' really see the spirit so far, hope it changes.

Not bad and you could say nothing is a waste if you are learning or having fun. I d recommend investing your gold in upgrading your workout area to A2 and then getting a Q3 food raw material company to supply your next investment: a A1 food company. You will gain strength, feed your fights, which will help you gain patriot and super soldier medals for more gold to fund further investments.

@Wilfie: I already have a q1 food with a q3 grain, shall I save gold for an other two companies in the same category? I see I have two workout areas, which one should be upgraded first - if I have the gold sometime? Or both of them?

Part of the reason you aren t seeing much news right now is simply that there isn t much to say. I haven t posted anything in my paper as I won t until we are ready for the training games for TurnLords. And most of the other articles would be political based which doesn t have much happening right now.
Welcome to the game. I always do recommend going for TG first since its easier to gain gold that way. But if you want to be self sufficient in food at least. Go TG2 (20g) - Upgrade Q1 to Q2 food (20g) - build Q3 Grain (10g) - build Q1 Food (10g) - upgrade Q2 Food (20g) - up Q3 TG (70g) - up Q4 TG (170). Other wise go rush Q4 TG. Unless you are extremely active having two Q2 Food factory and two Q3 grain should give you sufficient amount of food req for daily operation.
Talesweaver provided some more accurate advice, which is definitely worth considering. You can only upgrade the Boot Camp, which I would at least get to Q2 as soon as you can. Every 250 strength earns you 5 Gold, so for example, with my Q3 Boot Camp and Q2 Beginner Camp, I make 35 strength a day, or 5 Gold almost every 7 days. Plus, the added strength will increase your damage output, helping you gain Ally and Patriot Medals (these come easy at first but get much harder later). I never upgraded my food companies because you can just buy another Q1 for 10 Gold, which will give you about the same amount of energy as upgrading to Q2 Food for 20 Gold. I am running at 3 Q1 Food Factories and 3 Q3 food raw material companies but still have to buy food for extra fights. Not sure if I am doing the food production the best way but it was the cheapest route so that I could save Gold for my Q3 Boot Camp upgrade.
Here is some extra cash also
btw, don t worry about getting the Advanced Training area, since it requires cash to train each day. It s a bit expensive for when you start out and I wouldn t advise it unless you are drowning in currency.
