Admins have just announced a big update to the game, that will be released very soon (probably in January).
Basically, they will add a completely different type of battles: the naval battles.
These are the most important changes:
- Around 160 regions will become "coastal" regions. The others will be considered "land" regions. In the article comments, admins have specified that NOT all the regions connected to the sea will be clified as "coastal". Only around half of them will be, while the rest will be clified as "land". At the moment we don't know the full list of the coastal regions.
- Resource Aluminum will be renamed "Sulfur".
- Five new resources will be added: Steel, Copper, Aluminum, Titanium and Uranium.
- All the resources in the world will be redistributed.
- A new weapon (warships) will be added. It will have the same modificators as the tanks. It will be used only in naval battles. Existing weapons (guns, tanks and heli) will be used only in land battles, not in new naval battles. The only weapon that can be used in both battles will be RPG.
- New weapon factories and new raw factories will be added to produce warships. The new weapon factory will NOT need any previous Q5 company to be built.
- New skill (intelligence) will be added. It will work as the strength but it will be used only in naval battles (strength will be still used only in land battles).
- New training centers for intelligence will be added, similar to the existing ones for strength.
- New military rank and new medals will be added only for the naval battles.
- Number of companies you can build will be limited, but there are no details about this limitation yet.
- A coastal region will be able to attack any other coastal region in the world, starting a naval battle. For example, Portugal will be able to attack Japan directly.
- A new installation (Airbase) will be available. It will be similar to hospital and defense shield, so it will be time limited and can be destroyed if the region is conquered. This installation can connect any region around the world with the capital, giving full production bonus.
- I have posted a question in the original article and received the following clarification: a battle between coastal regions will be always a naval battle, even if they border one another.
As you can see, this is a major update that will change the game as we know it. A lot of decisions will need to be implemented by the countries.
Probably the government will need to take important decision regarding all game features:
- Military decisions: Should new and old players focus on land or naval battle? Probably many newbies should be suggested to focus on the new naval battles, where the difference with the "old" players will be minimal. Land battles will still be important, though, so some old and new players should still focus on land. This also depends on the coastal regions igned to our country and to enemies.
- Business decisions: During next discounts will it be better to invest in new raw companies? In new weapon companies? In new training centers? Of course these decisions are personal, but maybe a national survey could help the government to guide the players to the right decision to have a balanced market.
- Political decisions: The redistribution of raw materials and the new factories will impact the taxes. Also, the clification of coastal regions will change a lot in the warfare, alliances and enemies.
A lot of thinking is needed, but I think these changes are a big opportunity to increase our power. During the next weeks, a good organization can make the difference. Let's do it!
