Hey everyone!
I think music is very powerful. It can grab you, make you move, inspire you in many ways. I’ve been listening to many kind of music, I grew up with my mom listening to the eighties, she was a big fan of QUEEN.
YEAH, good stuff...
Then I loved heavy metal in my teenage hood, I grew up on Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns and roses, Nirvana just to name a few.
I didn’t understand the lyrics much those days, I didn’t speak nor understand English, but oh boy it sounded so good.
Now mainly like clic rock like Deep Purple, Eagles, LED Zeppelin, Supertrump, yeah ... breakfast in America.
But there is amazing bands in Canada as well like Tragically Hip was a really good one.
In today’s world I don’t find modern music very good at all, so kind of stuck in the past.
The quality of the music is poor, the lyrics often don’t have a real meaning.
Talking about meaning in lyrics perhaps wasn’t that important to me before but as I age and mature it certainly became important. So much so, that I can even listen to genres of music I normally dislike.
Any music with a meaning can be good, and this guy Akira The Don plays incredible meaningful music. He uses great influencers, motivation speeches in his music.
I wasn’t even listening to music when I heard about him. I was listening to Jordan Peterson podcast on Spotify, when Jordan interviewed Akira. I really like Jordan Peterson, he is a clinical psychologist, a professor in the university of Toronto, and he wrote great books, he talks about meaning of life to his audiences, he wrote the book 12 rules for life, you guys really should check him out, look him up on the internet.
Anyways back to Akira, if you like his kind of music, it’s hip hop, dance, rave, you guys really should check him out. I personally don’t like these types of music, but the meanings of the songs, the stories it tells are valuable, and I strongly recommend to you young fellows. Especially to those who feels lost sometimes.
Here is two example, one with Joe Rogan and the other with J. Peterson.
I think this kind of stuff worth sharing, highly influential.
Enjoy!
