Did you know?
1) Japanese always remove their footwear before entering a home. Often houses have an elevation made, which signify that shoes have to be removed.
2) Many women wear platform shoes that are 4 to 6 inches high.
3) Sumo wrestling is the national sport of this country.
4) Kendo, meaning "the way of the sword', is Japan's oldest form of martial arts.
5) Vandalism rates in Japan are among the least in the world.
6) While smoking is allowed practically anywhere in Japan, you are not allowed to smoke in local trains. Long distance trains have got designated smoking zones.
7) Japanese do not submerge themselves into the bathtub and then lather. They soap outside the tub and rinse it off. Only then do they submerge
themselves neck-deep into the hot water to refresh and relax.
8) Japanese drive on the left, and have their steering wheels on the right, exactly opposite of what it is in America.
9) In villages there is no need to send invitations for a wedding or a funeral. They are considered community events and the entire village
will help in preparing the food, and taking care of all the required arrangements.

I would love to live in a Japanese village and leech of all those community events..until they linch me out, that is. xD
nicely o7
@synhro lol you just reminded me on that news of some remote (isolated) japanese island village looking for residents willing to live there since the village is dying out. And guess from which world region there were the most aplicants....from Balkans. Unfortunately for them, they only accept(ed) japanese people xD
Lol! I read those articles as well, like more than 500 people form Balkan sent residency letters to Japanese Embassy. xD
Yeah, and if I remember well, later after few months the Japanese television went in a search for the applicants from the Balkan, because they wanted to interview them xD As for me, as many I would like to live in Japan, but living in a small village in some remote island is out of the option (seen too many horror movies xD).
