Hoy jueves 29 de setiembre se conmemora la victoria de la Batalla de Boquerón, durante la Guerra del Chaco. Esta fue una de las gloriosas facetas que se desarrolló durante 20 días en defensa del Chaco paraguayo.Las tropas bolivianas habían ocupado tres fortines paraguayos al inicio de la Guerra del Chaco (1932-1935). La batalla duró 20 días y, finalmente, el 29 de setiembre, los soldados bolivianos se rendían ante los heroicos soldados paraguayos bajo el mando del entonces teniente coronel José Félix Estigarribia.
Thursday September 29 victory of the Battle of Boqueron is commemorated during the Chaco War. This was one of the glorious facets which ran for 20 days in defense of Chaco paraguayo.Las Bolivian troops occupied three Paraguayans at the beginning of the Chaco War (1932-1935) pillboxes. The battle lasted 20 days and finally on September 29, Bolivian soldiers defected to the heroic Paraguayan soldiers under the command of then Lieutenant Colonel Jose Felix Estigarribia.
Muchos cayeron, pero nadie se rindió, y durante veinte días atacaron y resistieron, para lograr, el 29 de setiembre de 1932, el objetivo de liberar el suelo patrio de la ocupación boliviana.Hasta el final de la batalla intervinieron por el lado paraguayo 9.500 combatientes y por el lado boliviano actuaron 3.850 hombres. Las bajas bolivianas fueron 1.500 hombres, entre muertos y heridos, mientras que las paraguayas fueron 400 muertos y 1.350 heridos.
Many died, but nobody gave up, and for 20 days attacked and resisted to achieve, on 29 September 1932, in order to free the homeland of the Bolivian occupation. Until the end of the battle intervened by the Paraguayan side and 9,500 fighters acted on the Bolivian side 3,850 men. Bolivian casualties were 1,500 men killed and wounded, while the Paraguayans were 400 dead and 1,350 wounded.
