We were young boys back then, around 8-years-old or so.Played some football after school, as usual. Two guys were better than anybody else, Ibrahim and Mathieu. So they had to be in different teams; they were the captians, the chose from us into their groups. This afternoon was different. They liked each other, were very good friends, sat next to each other in cles… they wanted to be in the same team. So it happened. They even agreed to have a smaller team, so we bolded up, and started to play. It was fun! Even for me (i was int he opponent team),miraculous, enyojed watching them beat us up. What they could do together was like a real match in some fancy arenas in Machester or Madrid. Their cooperative play was so effective and beautiful, the most awesome football ever happened in that dusty schoolyard. We did our best, but even their defense was so effective when they could be in the same team, we didnt have a chance. It was challenging, and fun, but they led by 3 or so goals in some minutes. That was when the interesting thing started. Georgi stated, he is with them. That was not strange at all, he always wanted to win, no matter the circumstances, we didnt even counted on him ever. But somene else joined him int he swapping group, and a third guy in seconds. We were left so few, and became so tired of this unbearable challenge, their ’glorious’ vistory became our glorious struggle. After a while we counted our successful defenses instead of goals, and even when they missed a shot counted as half point for us. After the game, we were happy and proud of our ’great’ moments, and they were just like ’hmm that was fun’. No need to mention Ibrahim and Mathieu was never ever to team up again.
Ever since that immature afternoon, i play for the challange and honour instead of victory. I dont care about who wins, but how fascinating the game is, could we had played better? Look at this chart, i colored your allies flags to yours (paint rlz).
This game is great and addictive because it represents life. This game, as life itself is exactly what we make it. If we fake, and scam it will be a
game of these, if we cooperate and publish articles it will become something else. What we do here defines what game we are playing. A bit
like the forming of the groups before the matches, defined what match we will have. You can stick to the current alliance, and play a (imho)
boring game, or redefine it, and play a challanging, memorable adventure. We dont have an option, though we would chose like that (not
like Georgi)
