My comment was about ktabs observation, as the only defeat celebrated as the victory. @Peaky, I am not enjoying because of your bringing modern Rl political issues in the game. @petros2 I highly doubt about this. History is not for knowing, history is for exploring. You and many others use history for proper national education, and I disagree with this. Also, I am quite sure, you in Greece knows own history, but probably you are not so good with the worlds history, so you don t have wider perspective. Levi, maybe. But Thermopylae is a world famous battle; by that I do not want to undermine the significance of Kosovo battle, but that s what it is, the difference between these 2 battles :/

Also I did not say ΄celebrate as victory΄... I said that people THINK of this battle as Greek victory, which obviously was not. It was a defeat, a pyrrhic victory for Persians, that lost thousands against 1000 Greeks. The real defeat for Persians came 1 year later at the battle of Plataea. Although Persians were annihilated at that battle, still Thermopylae remains more famous battle than Plataea. Cause of it s strong symbolism.
