Ever since the changing of resources and advent of naval battle, the USA's old diplomacy based on locking the enemy out of the Atlantic had collapsed. The homeland was subject to invasion by the Serbian-Croatian-Bosnian forces (who I'll just call the Yugoslavs for simplicity) in a bid to gain resource parity.

Many in the US have panicked over this development, but the point of this article is to prove there isn't much to panic about. That's not to say that we shouldn't take the war seriously - we absolutely should and have a mountain of work to climb ahead of us in which we need to expel the invader and throw out these pesky Yugoslav refugees. It's to say that the invasion of the USA is a time sensitive operation, and an act of desperation by GAME Inc. Though brilliantly planned and executed, it represents Yugoslavia's attempt to "escape" from Europe, where they are trapped by Vae Victis, and depends on them wiping out the United States before VV defeats Denmark.

A Refugee Crisis and Not a War

Yugoslav countries with the exception of the mighty Macedonian Empire are part of the losing alliance in the world contest, GAME Inc. Of the world's eight Great Powers (by dmg): Turkey, Serbia, France, Iran, Macedonia, Romania, Croatia, and Georgia, 6 are in VV, 1 is neutral, and only 1 is in GAME Inc.

As this article explains from Serbia's ministry of information, Serbia's plan is move the capital region to the United States to take advantage of the wealth of resources here and to build a base.

Serbia's invasion is as much a conquest bid as it is a flight for safety. Canada and Mexico bordering the US are members of smaller alliances, neutral in the World War. France, the great power of the Atlantic, left Vae Victis months ago. The US is a far safer resource haven for the Serbs than Europe, and they need to move the capital because they do not have a direct land route to the Sea.

While I won't give details (map is still confidential), a recent Serbian peace deal offered to give back the US coast to take a huge chunk of the interior, and a coastline to Asia. This is clear sign of a "Serbian migration" - GAME Inc. knows Europe is increasingly becoming the backyard of Vae Victis, and is trying to create an isolated "safety zone" in North America, with chances of attacking Asia.

A well-prepared invasion

Setbacks were inevitable in the invasion. The Yugoslavs showed brilliant planning in the operation and were able to secure a coastline in Montenegro, stock up on naval resources through mive coordination, and even fix wages in Serbia prior to the landing. They landed in two places: New Jersey from Serbia, and Texas from Bosnia. They drained US damage and made it less effective by opening overlapping battles from the two fronts, challenging the US to fight a two-front war.

However, the enterprise was doomed to begin with.

The Yugoslav Objective: Take America in Three Weeks

Time is not on the side of the enemy. Many Americans have pointed out that VV seems to have other priorities, but it makes sense that they would. Coinciding with the invasion of the US was the invasion of Scandinavia by Turkey and Poland after a scuffle between the Danish and Turkish governments. Turkey, the world's strongest power, doesn't have full bonuses after the update (no countries do), and in fact only has 60% on guns - they will inevitably want to expand before focusing on defeating Serbia.

However, there is no doubt that the full force of VV against the full force of GAME Inc. isn't a contest. GAME Inc. countries, minus Hungary, don't have empires because they don't have the damage to hold them. With the exception of Georgia (and more recently Macedonia), none of USA's MPPs (capped at 6 by a previous update - an update aimed to destroy Vae Victis) were in the top 8 damage countries. 

However, the Danes are badly losing the Turko-Danish war, and it's unlikely they'll survive beyond a couple of weeks. Serbia is operating on a time limit to wipe USA's capital and therefore deplete USA's concentration of force before the demise of Denmark.

The Fronts Turn

Absolutely instrumental in slowing the Yugoslav advance and winning the Bosnian front has been Taiwan, a faithful and powerful ally that region swapped to take Colorado and Texas back from Bosnia. Presently, Taiwan is positioned to open a second front against Serbia unless its present interior regions are returned.

The entry of Taiwan has been absolutely vital in turning the tide against Serbia, closing one of Serbia's two fronts.

Ultimately, the future of the war is a race against time. Serbia will need to take the USA's hospital and knock us out of the war before peace with Denmark, and the USA's resources simply need to last until then.

The invasion of USA is a sign of the desperation of GAME Inc. - and I don't just say that for propaganda purposes (I'm director of tech - just a nerd sitting at a computer and building websites, propaganda isn't my job). The Yugoslavs (and now only the Serbs) are seeking to escape Europe and build a new base without a coastal connection to VV.

Overall, the outcome of this campaign will be decisive. If GAME Inc. is able to knock USA out of the war, it will be far easier for them to hold against Taiwan to secure their North American resource base, and make a comeback in the Great War. If they lose this campaign, the war is lost.

However, the war calls into attention the USA's status as an independent power. With a small lation but one of the biggest resource caches in the world, USA has made a reputation for itself as a 'resource colony' which is inevitably damaging to our respect in the eyes of our allies, and which encourages our enemies to invade us whenever they please. In the future, recruitment is going to have to be a giant pillar of the American nation if the USA is going to be able to survive without outside istance.
