interesting. While all slavs (im Serb) say Solun , i didnt know what is actually meaning of Thessaloniki. Or meaning of wrods Makedon , its like Kosovo polje - Blackbird field, serbian. . Btw, any greek can explain why we all say Greek, while your self you say Hellas or Helens etc.. ?

Greek comes from the word γραικος. I don t know what it means but it was used in ancient times from Greeks and also from illirians for the Greeks that lived on the north. Ελλάδα is the name that is used from Greeks from the ancient times and started from the name of a king if I am not mistaken
