Country ranking | day 2,797

Hello everyone! in today's article I'll go in detail on the countries' damage ranking and analyze the current alliances situation. I unfortunately only managed to get the top 10, as the game can't handle too much more than that in the article. sorry if you've seen my articles recently but couldn't access them, that's the main reason.

first, the rankings:

Land Damage Ranking

an explanation on the chart: active units are, well, units that are active. active soldiers are people who are in military units, because everyone who is active will be in a military unit after all, you will miss out on daily bonuses if you aren't in one! and of course, only people who were active in the last 2 weeks count. I can tell you that we lost a few people since my last article.
The damage calculated by the total damage of the active players in military units in each country.

Alliances and Romania
First, allow me to first say that I have no malice towards Romania, nor is it to whine about any advantage them or their alliance have. this is a social game, and Romania managed to get more people, which keeps the game alive. in real life, I've visited the country more than once and was even in a sort of "Student exchange" in Bucharest back in 2018. but still! this is a game, and they are on top of the board by FAR. so, cracking on possible weaknesses of them and the Friends alliance is at the very least is interesting.

I wanted to rank the different alliances, but it is somewhat futile. out of all active players in military units, in Land damage the Friends alliance has 215726916 damage, which is 53.51% of the total damage of all countries combined (403108874), and in Naval damage they have 198045851 out of the total 369812192, which is 53.55%. it means that they are theoretically unbeatable. They're stronger than the rest of the countries combined. Romania alone is 23% of the total land damage of the world and 24% of the naval one.

Head on combat is, as I said, theoretically impossible, but lets look at possible alternatives:

1. Convince countries to change sides.
this is not an easy task. this alliance, from my understanding, is built a lot on loyalty, a country that would defect would probably face backlash from the alliance and will be wiped.
2. Convince civilians to switch countries.
the alliance's power supremacy comes from lation supremacy: 307 active soldiers out of 592, making 51.8% of the lation. while it's easier to do (easier taxes, benefits, etc can go a long way), it's a very risky strategy, in smaller countries its easier to get into the government, and 1 is enough to smuggle other people into the country, resulting in a hostile take over.
3. playing the long game: hoard weapons.
in wars here, ammunitions can be a much greater factor than pure strength. however, this gives only a temporary advantage. the better option in this scenario is "taking a break" from combat to focus on industry, however, in bigger countries the economic damage to getting their land conquered due to withdrawing from combat will probably be worse for the economy than selling products.
4. the most unrealistic one unfortunately- getting more players.
this is the one with the best outcome, both for the countries because they'll get a permanent boost to their power and economy, and the game as a whole. unfortunately, not many people are interested in browser games nowadays. personally, I think that making an app for this game would increase the player count a bit, but that is not really up to any of us. still, that would be the best way to gain any sort of advantage. even if 10% of the people who play right now (who aren't from the alliance) managed to get 1 friend to join, it would be enough to (eventually) surp the alliance. but that all relies on the combined strength of all other nations combined, which is much harder to pull than making an alliance with 10 countries.

I myself don't see any other way to defeat them, for whoever is interested. I have to note though, my own country is small, and we tend to focus more on economy for that reason, so I don't really have experience with wars of conquest, and because of that you should take my advice with a grain of salt.

due to the fact that I can only showcase about 10 countries each time, I'll probably later rank countries within alliances, and try to write a thorough analysis of groups of 10 countries in the chart (40-31, 30-21 and so on) in each article, maybe even manage to interview their leaders, note their playstyle, strategy, and anything else that might interest you.
