Hello dear erev ADM's,
In the wake of these new updates that appear to be right out of a Stephen King's horror movie I would like to take some time out of my day to quickly help you understand the level of impact on every aspect of the game you will likely be looking at in the next few hours. Again, my intentions are not to offend or to rant but an attempt to call out anyone that might be advising you and help you realize how clueless they are when it comes to this games mechanic.
I am short of time and believe this needs to go out soon so I will be speaking generally but hope that later today I can give you some numbers as examples.
BATTLES
Currently the way the game has been setup battles are the bloodline of this game and therefore they affect almost every other module of the game. I don't have to expand much here but we are talking about Politics, Economy, even Newspapers.
Players come in, train, create LK, get their DO prices and work their companies. There is really no fun in that but their ultimate purpose is to have strength and energy to fight in a battle where they can be useful. In order for them to be useful they use weapons which exponentially multiplies their damage. However, the only income they have to buy them is by what they earn with medals (what they earn from work goes away in training and building LK). That is their only way to sustain themselves. You can say that maybe between 10 and 20% of the time they will help an ally with no compensation, but the only way they can do so is by offsetting the gains they have gathered from what they have earned in medals. A typical player pretty much earns in medals what they spend in weapons. So if you take away the only income they have to buy weapons you are cutting their arms and legs in the battlefield.
Aside from all of the economic impact the new update, which we'll mention ahead, a reduced interest in battles will cause a huge apathy in the community. People will just have no reason to keep login in as all other modules have really nothing else to offer without war. Put yourself in someone's (new or old) shoes coming in to just work and train but with no ultimate reason. At least now people have the hope that at one point they will have large stock and get stronger to one day make an impact, but now? It will just be walking zombies. To your disadvantage people have other options/games where they can spend their time instead.
ECONOMY
The games economy is already very fragile. A full capacity Q5 Heli company (Cost 620gx3) will barely give you a 2 or 3 gold profit a day if lucky. This is because of how the market has adjusted itself with the current combination of raw price, salaries, and weapon cost. All these factors are connected to the demand for weapons. If the demand drops all these prices will drop and since it will be a dramatic drop they won't even maintain the same proportions as before, it is impossible to know where salaries will land (currently they represent over 90% of the cost of a weapon) or how long it will take. And rest ured they will drop because nobody on their right mind will fight for constant loss. The prices will have to ultimately adjust to the compensation you have set with the new update of having to spend tons of helis for just 5 gold.
Now imagine people with huge stocks of weapons currently in their storage's. You will be responsible for wiping off 99.99% of their gains, which they already had to pay someone at old salary values for hence loosing tons of gold (will you add an option to apply for Bankruptcy?)
On the other hand imagine people who have thousands of gold. Hell even hundreds of gold. They will wait this out and them have the option to buy tons and tons of weapons once the market stabilizes having a great advantage over everyone else specially the new and upcoming ones.
Finally I wanted to mention that one MOD mentioned in the feed that the reason for the update was that people were making too much gold off of the current system. If that is the case you probably need to play the game yourself for a while to realize that is far from the truth. People who constantly fight will have a TP/DMG ratio so bad that most of the time they will have nothing left from the medals after they pay for the weapons. Others try to balance this out by hitting more gradually but not to the point where they can build a big factory anytime soon. Keep in mind its their only way of earning decent gold. So for those who are more worries about their economic achievements how else will they be able to gain anything? Small companies have very little to zero profit.
You guys really need to think this through. The games economy is not strong enough to sustain the trainwreck that is coming. Maybe it will adjust in a year or 2, but by that time it will be too late and mostly nobody will be around.
Think it over!
Edited:
Just though of a few things more:
-Because the gold will became so valuable salaries will drop big time. How will someone with, lets just say, a 20 cc salary pay for the 200cc cost of training?
Let me know in the comments if you come up with any other of all the problems the update will create and I will add them
