VALICHA is a lar huayno that is danced and sung in the city of Cuzco, composed in 1945 by Miguel Ángel Hurtado, it is like a hymn for the people of Cuzco and was dedicated to a Cuzco woman named Valerian, the expression Valicha is an abbreviation of her name. .

Miguel came from a landowning family and Valicha was of peasant origin, she was the most beautiful girl in town and Miguel fell in love with her, the girl's parents did not approve of that union and they sent her away to separate them, that pain inspired the music and the verses of this beautiful song.
