Greetings - dear friends and respected enemies

As I’m sure most of you reading this is aware, Japan was fallen on hard times for the last couple of weeks. Circumstances behind this are complicated and are both internal and external. First and foremost, after a dispute at the highest level of MDP and right before Germany’s attack was imminent - our two chief figures and weapon producers, Shiro and Izanagi (naki) chose to leave the game. Now, there has been a lot of speculations to why they decided on such a step..from getting bored of the game and having RL issues, to being scared of Germany’s attack. I won’t speculate on which one of these is true, but the bottom line is – they left.

If you put aside the rumors, leaving the game is a perfectly valid option for anyone..but doing so from a highest position of power, having most of the country top MU's weapon production on the account and not saying a single word or heads up to your fellow countrymen - is a whole different ball game. A strong enemy was attacking and we were left with no weapons or the ability to produce them. If it wasn’t for Jimmy we would’ve been loosing even more and if we had our production from the start we could’ve put a much stronger defense.

Eventually we got a sitter on Shiro’s acc and started to show more substantial resistance, but the problem remained: all of our weapon factories were tied up on an acc of a person who’s whims we cannot predict. We asked admins about transferring the companies, but they understandably said that it’s not possible. Finally we decided to bite the bullet: we have dissolved all of the weapon companies on Shiro’s acc, that were made by country’s money and member donations, and transferred all of the gold to country’s treasury. We realize that we loose a substantial amount of gold, but also, that is the best way to make a clean cut with the past and show respect to our people that put their own resources in building up our commune.

After long and exhausting war and the negotiations with that same circumstances, we managed to secure a NAP with Germany and a prospect of returning most of our resources. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our allies who fought hard for us in this campaign and express respect to Germany for a well fought war.

For all of our people who felt pressured by this situation and chose to leave the country – we can’t blame you. And now when we’re on a sure path of recovery – we’ll welcome you back with open arms.
