During the fifties of the last century, dr. Kurt Richter conducted an experiment on mice to study how long they could last in water without drowning.
He took a dozen mice and put them in water in tall gl jars and watched. On average, after fifteen minutes they stopped resisting and began to sink. However, just before giving up due to exhaustion, the researchers pulled them out of the water, dried them and let them rest for a few minutes. Then they put them back in the water for the second round. And a surprise happened!
In the second attempt, they greatly exceeded the initial fifteen minutes. You won't believe it, but they lasted a full 60 hours in the water without any of them drowning.
So they believed they would be saved and continued to the limit that was considered impossible, the entire 60 hours.
The experiment is often cited as an example of the importance of hope, optimism and self-belief.
If hope can make suffering mice swim for so long, what else can a man do if he believes in himself and his abilities.
Until someone gives up, he is stronger than his des..
